David Baldwin, O.D.

Dr. David Baldwin earned his undergraduate degree in molecular biology from Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri. He then attended the University of Missouri – St. Louis College of Optometry for his Doctor of Optometry, where he received an award for Excellence in Binocular Vision and Vision Therapy during his time there. He completed his residency in Primary Care and Ocular Disease at the W.G. (Bill) Hefner Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Salisbury, North Carolina before returning to his home state of Missouri to join Eyecare Specialties in 2021.
Dr. Baldwin prides himself on his ability to connect with patients. His calm, welcoming demeanor immediately puts others at ease. His residency gave him the opportunity to expand his knowledge of ocular disease treatment, giving him the ability to manage even the most complex cases, including those involving low vision. With his wide breadth of experience and expertise in both primary and specialty eye care, Dr. Baldwin helps each of his patients maximize their vision and ensures their overall eye health.

Get to Know Dr. David Baldwin
From the time he received his first pair of glasses in second grade, Dr. Baldwin knew he wanted to be an eye doctor. He decided that it was “the coolest job ever,” and what he enjoys most about optometry is the ability to improve his patients’ lives — those unforgettable moments where he knows that he has truly made a difference.
Although he has lived in Kansas City, St. Louis, and North and South Carolina, Dr. Baldwin was born and raised in Sedalia, Missouri. He returned to serve his hometown by providing high-quality eye care, and he welcomed the opportunity to be more involved in the community in which he grew up. Outside the office, Dr. Baldwin enjoys golf, exercise, fishing, traveling, and meeting new people.
