Eye Care Services in Lee's Summit, Warrensburg, Sedalia and Clinton, MO

You'll find that we provide a wide range of eye care services for Warrensburg, Sedalia and Clinton, MO residents. Of course we emphasize regular eye and vision exams for every member of your family --beginning in childhood, when so much vital development and learning depends on proper communication between the eyes and the brain. As people age, they become increasingly prone to diseases of the eye such as cataracts, glaucoma and macular degeneration. High blood pressure or diabetes can also contribute to retinal damage. That's why you need to keep up your annual eye exams for life -- the sooner we detect the problem, we sooner we can provide vision-saving treatment.

If we discover a refractive error that requires correction, we will write a prescription for the appropriate glasses or contact lenses. Some patients may even opt for laser surgery or Otho-K (a special type of contact lens that temporarily corrects the shape of the cornea at night, allowing for perfect daytime vision without lenses). If you suffer from the age-related stiffening of the lens known as presbyopia, our optometrist can create bifocals, trifocals, or corrective lenses to help you see clearly in all visual fields. We offer a variety of attractive designer frames and sunglasses.

Eyecare Specialties also provides vision therapy, the treatment of anatomical or physiological irregularities of the eye. For instance, sometimes the eyes fail to track with each other or focus properly due to a muscular or neurological problem, causing low, blurred or double vision. This might sound alarming, but it's actually quite common and treatable. We can determine whether you suffer from a condition such as amblyopia ("lazy eye"), strabismus (incorrectly aligned eyes). Treatments may include corrective lenses or vision therapy, which is the use of exercises to help the eyes function normally and with equal visual acuity.

If you seek improved vision without any corrective lenses, then you may be a good candidate for eye surgery. Here at Eyecare Specialties we are partners with Sabates Eye Centers, who have the skills necessary to perform these types of procedures locally.

Shouldn't your eye doctor be a trusted advisor and family friend? At Eyecare Specialties, that's exactly the kind of eye doctor you get. Contact our clinic and get to know us!
